Efficient and intelligent command and control systems are essential for successful satellite and terrestrial mission operations.

Without command and control systems, it would be impossible for civil, government and commercial flight operators, mission controllers, trainers and testers to carry out the enormous task of monitoring, operating, and commanding today’s advanced technology.

Braxton’s command and control systems mitigate the obstacles of distance by streamlining front-end communications and providing command planning, telecommanding, crypto control, and operator workstations.

These functions, included in Braxton’s ACE Premier™ command and control systems product suite, are used in the deployment of advanced ground control systems used to support specific mission objectives. The suite offers pre- and post-launch maneuver planning, and telemetry, tracking and commanding functions.

Our tracking and commanding operations include the processing, logging, recording, storage, and access of data; database maintenance; monitoring; vehicle commanding; status reporting, and scheduling functions. Auxiliary functions also include internal and external satellite system simulation for satellite testing, training, and rehearsal activities.

As part of the software suite, our ControlPoint™ software, provides Space Vehicle and Ground Station Command and Control (C2) with a plug-in architecture which provides complete operations capability for automated and operator interactive C2 of all satellite and ground equipment. ControlPoint™ controls vehicle acquisition, commanding, telemetry processing, telemetry distribution, and telemetry evaluation. ControlPoint™ also provides local and remote ground station acquisition schedule generation and evaluation; status monitoring and control; data collection; visualization; and support scripting.

ControlPoint™ controls planning functions, such as building command databases, defining and distributing telemetry wavetrain definitions, performing orbital maneuvers, and scheduling resources. ControlPoint™ provides peripheral device control of front-end processors, converters, encryption device control units, and simulators, and controls the transfer of data to archival tools.

Combining the features of three Braxton products, the Front-End Command and Control Communications Processing (AceCTK) system is the backbone of the ACE Premier™ front-end communications solution. The hardware converts and formats commonly used output command streams, accepts multiple input telemetry streams and controls synchronous telemetry data inverters. Braxton ACE ControlPoint™, AceCPW, provides an integrated user interface to the ACE Premier™ command and control system for flight operators, mission controllers, testers, and trainers. ControlPoint™ provides complete command, control, and telemetry functionality for:

The Heart of the Ground Station

Command, Control, and Tracking, AceCCT, provides complete ground station command handling, control, status, antenna pointing services, and tracking services through local or remote ground stations. AceCCT performs command format conversion, and may be used to control Air Force Satellite Control Network (AFSCN) assets. AceCCT emulates the Automated Remote Tracking Station (ARTS) and other ground stations, and includes robust error and status logging.

Front-End Command and Control Communications Processing

AceCTK combines the functionality of three Braxton products: Ace CCU (Command Conversion Unit), AceTFE (Telemetry Front-End Processor), and AceKGC (Key Generator Controller), to provide a full-function front-end communications processor for the Braxton ACE Premier™ suite. This unit converts and formats commonly used types of output command streams. AceCTK controls synchronous telemetry data inverters, and accepts multiple input telemetry streams at user-specified data rates.
AceCTK supports KGA, KIT-123, cardholder, and PEGASUS cryptographic processor modes and government-furnished encryption devices, such as KI-17s, MYK-15A/16/17s, and KG(R/T) 61/62/123s. AceCTK includes a government-specified parallel interface.

AceCTK provides frame synchronization and decommutation, as well as front-end derived processing and network data distribution.
