Job Description

Braxton Technologies is seeking an Oracle Database Administrator for the Information Technologies team in Pleasanton, California. This individual will work closely with system architects, administrators, software developers, and customers to implement and maintain mission-critical, highly available Oracle database systems. Responsibilities will include: database installation and configuration, patching, upgrades, backup, and troubleshooting for development, test, and production database systems. Participation in and coordination with other Department functions in the following areas will be the responsibility of the Database Administrator: Information Systems certification and accreditation, verification, deployment, and operations.

Required Criteria
• Degree in engineering, computer science, or information technology (Bachelors or better)
• Previous Oracle database administration experience (10g or 11g)
• Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating system
• Advanced knowledge of SQL
• Working knowledge of cyber-security technologies and best-practices
• Ability to function in a dynamic, fast-paced, multi-disciplinary team
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Able to obtain U.S. Department of Energy and Other Government Agency (OGA) security clearances for this position. In order to obtain these clearances, U.S. Citizenship and polygraphs are required

Desired Criteria
• Experience with Oracle DataGuard and Label Security
• Advanced knowledge of PL/SQL
• Familiarity with modern programming methods and languages (C, C++, Java, OOP)
• Experience with other RDBMS: Microsoft SQL Server 2003, MySQL, or PostgreSQL
• Experience working in datacenter environment
• Prior Government employment experience
• Previous experience working with a Government-sponsored 24x7 operations center
