Announcements : U.S. Air Force Chooses Raytheon to Develop the Next Generation GPS Control Segment

The U.S. Air Force chose Raytheon to develop a new element of the Global Positioning System (GPS), called the Advanced Control Segment (OCX), which will improve the accuracy of information from GPS satellites. "Raytheon teammates include The Boeing Company, ITT, Braxton Technologies, Infinity Systems Engineering and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory."

Announcements : GPS IIR-21(M) Satellite Declared Operational

The last in the series of eight modernized Global Positioning System IIR satellites, GPS IIR-21(M), was declared operational Thursday for military and civilian users worldwide, just 10 days after launching from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. “The 50th Space Wing is extremely proud of adding this new satellite to the operational constellation and we look forward to continuing to use this spacecraft to help with the current fight as well as to support civil users around the world,” said Colonel Wayne Monteith, 50th Space Wing Commander.

Announcements : United Launch Alliance Successfully Launches 47th Air Force GPS Mission

A United Launch Alliance Delta II rocket successfully launched the Air Force’s Global Positioning Satellite IIR-20(M) into orbit from Space Launch Complex 17A at 4:34 a.m., EDT. This was the 47th successful GPS launch for the Delta II in its storied 20-year history. The very first Delta II launch on Feb. 14, 1989 was the NAVSTAR II-1 launch. NAVSTAR is now commonly known as GPS.

Announcements : GPS LADO Conducts GPS IIR-19(M) Launch and Early-Orbit Operations

The U.S. Air Force successfully launched the latest GPS satellite at 2:09 am EDT on March 15, 2008. This launch utilized the GPS LADO command and control system to ensure a picture-perfect launch and early-orbit operations. Braxton’s ACE Premier™ suite provides the framework for the GPS LADO system, which is expected to perform two more GPS satellite launches this year.

Announcements : Record Breaking Transition from Launch to Operations for GPS IIR-18

The latest GPS satellite was launched on December 20 of last year and set to healthy on January 2, setting a new record for transition from Launch to operations. Braxton Technologies’ ACE Premier is the framework for the new Launch/Early Orbit, Anomaly Resolution, Disposal, and Operations (LADO) System. The Air Force Space Command's 2nd Space Operations Squadron (2 SOPS) and its reserve associate unit 19 SOPS based at Schriever Air Force Base, Colorado, with the launch and early orbit operations for GPS IIR-18M (SVN 57) conducted the on-orbit deployment and checkout of all spacecraft systems in just over three days. Upon completion of navigation payload initialization, the satellite was declared operational on January 2 for both civil and military users.

We had a fabulous turn out. We would like to thank all the folks that stopped by our booth. This was a great year for making new friends as well as some excellent potential business contacts. There were many questions answered and we are confident that there are, now, many more people walking around knowing and understanding the vast array of services and software we have to offer them. We must give Double Kudos to the Space Foundation as well as the Broadmoor Hotel and Staff for another incredibly well done function. The professionalism was obvious to all.
